Blini Luxe

This simple yet sophisticated appetizer pairs fluffy blinis, tangy cream cheese, and luxurious caviar for a delightful bite-sized treat.


Ingredients (Makes 12-15 blinis):

  • Caviar: 1-2 ounces (your preferred variety)
  • Blinis: 12-15 small ones (store-bought or homemade)
  • Cream cheese: 1/2 cup (softened)
  • Lemon zest: 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh dill or chives: finely chopped, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Optional: Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture

    • In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the lemon zest, a pinch of salt, and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Whip until smooth and creamy.
  2. Warm the Blinis

    • Heat the blinis in a skillet over low heat or warm them in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for a few minutes, just until soft and slightly toasted.
  3. Assemble the Blinis

    • Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on each blini.
    • Top with a small dollop of caviar (about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon).
  4. Garnish

    • Add a small sprig of dill or a sprinkle of finely chopped chives on top for a pop of color and flavor.
  5. Serve

    • Arrange the blinis on a serving platter and serve immediately. Optional: Serve with lemon wedges for an extra touch of citrus.
